Everyday, the web feeds us so many opinions and these opinions influence the way we think.
As a social media manager/marketer/strategist/my job is to be on the Interwebs all day, it is easy for met to get lost and confused in all the noise. Every now and again, I have to make sure that I’m not getting caught up in images or opinions that don’t necessarily reflect what I believe.
I have a few online places where I retreat to find inspiration, encouragement, and, most importantly, help me keep a biblical view on this crazy thing we call the world wide web.
I love the The Bible App; it’s on my phone and my iPad. Whenever I need a quick refocus, I pull out the app and read the verse of the day or one of the devotionals in my reading plan. It instantly helps me remember who I am and why I do what I do.
When I’m looking for some Insta-ration, I check out Jackie Hill Perry, Christine Caine, Be Girly, and Propel Women. I can always count on them for bible verses and truthful insight on womanhood, leadership, relationships, theology and so much more.
For the times I’m having difficulty comprehending things I read about in the news and seeing them in light of God’s eternal plan, Relevant Magazine and Desiring God serve as my reminder.
All of these places really help me refocus, but sometimes it’s worth it to actually take a break. Like, turn off the phones, computers, iPads, Apple watches and whatever else you have and spend some valuable time with the Creator. Your soul and your eternity will greatly appreciate it.
