One of the reasons I love fashion so much is because it allows me to express myself. I am a firm supporter of Rachel Zoe’s belief that “style is a way to say who you are without having to speak.” I use my style to let the world know who I am and what’s important to me. It gives others a glimpse into my personality. I want to exude boldness, quirkiness, sophistication, Liberian pride, class, topped off with a little bad and bougie. If you speak to me in person, that’s pretty much what you’re gonna get.
To me, this winter outfit says all of that and more. I went on a Black Friday shopping rampage and this ruffled velvet mini was one of my conquests. I got it from Choies, which is a great resource for unique clothing at low prices. I’ve been excited to wear this as soon as I added it to cart.
I paired it with a soft pink button-up (similar here) from H&M, another Black Friday spoil. It is so cold in Georgia so I had to add a pair of fleece stockings, that I grabbed from Forever 21 years ago, and thigh high boots (similar here) from Boohoo.
I told you guys I like to be bold, bad and bougie, so I topped the look off with an Ankara clutch courtesy of Sew Sophistikated and a faux fur (similar here). When I can, I like to add West African flavor to the things that I wear. It’s a nod to my Liberian heritage. This clutch allows me to express just that, plus it is so spacious that I can fit EVERYTHING inside without it looking too bulky.
And check out this “get ready with me” video I put together. Let me know if you’d like to see more of these videos.
Because I love this clutch so much, I’ve partnered with Sew Sophistikated to give one away. Are ya’ll excited?! To enter, all you have to do is:
